FOOD
The Red Herring offers a wide variety of menu items from land and sea including burgers, lobster rolls, scallops, fish cakes, poutine, steak, chicken wings and chicken fingers and of course our famous fish and chips! Our menu also includes salads, nachos, a daily soup and sandwich and lots more! We also have a gluten free menu with a separate fryer for gluten free items. We also do our best to provide options for any allergies or dietary restrictions.
DRINKS
We carry a wide selection of local craft beer on tap and in cans/bottles as well as your favourite domestic and imported beer, cider and alcoholic seltzers. We also have a variety of spirits, wine and a selection of high end whiskeys and scotches. We also carry non-alcoholic options such as Libra and Corona non-alcoholic beer, Tea of Life Kombucha and more.
LIVE MUSIC
Over the years The Red Herring has been a live music staple as a smaller venue for local and touring artists from across Canada. After some time off due to Covid, we are back to hosting regular live music! We regularly host live music on Saturdays nights as well as matinee shows on Thursday and Friday evenings during the summer months.
EVENTS, GAMES & MORE
During the summer we have a DJ Night once/twice a month on Thursday nights. These Thursdays are known to locals as “Boom Boom”. and are always a fun night of dancing!
Tuesdays are TV Bingo Night, which airs on the local community television station CHCO . Buy tickets at the pub and stay to play!
The pub carries a bunch of board games and there’s usually some folks around that are up for a game of Yahtzee, Kismet or Cribbage.
We also host special events throughout the year such as a weekly knitting club, painting classes, trivia & more!
RESERVATIONS / GROUP BOOKINGS
Because of our relatively small kitchen, we aren’t able to take reservation requests during the busy season and tables are based on a first come first serve basis. Please feel free to stop in and we will do what we can to accommodate your group.
